Russell Julian
Russell is originally from Derbyshire. He attended West Nottinghamshire College in Mansfield and then went on to study illustration at Anglia University in Cambridge.
Russell is a talented artist who works in acrylic, creating strong characters and soft landscapes, using unusual perspectives to add visual depth. His inspiration comes from paintings, films and his favourite hobby – gardening.
Russell’s first books to published were four noisy farm board books; Lost Calf, Happy Cockerel, Hungry Pig and Busy Dog, all published by Egmont in March 2004. Each book follows a different animal as they go about their daily life on the farm.
Since then, Russell has gone on to publish a variety of books for children and is a rising star illustrator in the world of picture books.
He now lives in North West London with his partner and three children.
