Elizabeth Dale
Elizabeth Dale began her writing career in magazine fiction and was inspired to write children’s books after her daughters were born.
Elizabeth has had over twenty children’s books published from picture books up to novels for up to age 12.
Some of her well know titles draw from her children’s own childhood experiences. These include the death of their pet ‘Scrumpy’ and the tale of their over-adventurous hamster – ‘Hammy’.
Other stories like ‘Don’t Get Dirty Gertie’ and ‘When Betsy Came To Babysit’ are pure frivolity.
” Wouldn’t you try to get away with all kinds of craziness if your babysitter says she has never babysat before?”
Elizabeth was inspired to write her recently published book ‘Off to Market’, when she visited one of her daughters in Uganda and experienced the joy of riding on a matatu (an African minibus) with every type of animal and possession imaginable crammed in with her.
Some of her recent titles include ‘Rory’s Robot’ and ‘My Secret Alien’.
Elizabeth Dale lives in West Sussex, England.
