MAX AND RUBY’S TREASURE HUNT

Author and Illustrator: Rosemary Wells
Buy – Max and Ruby’s Treasure Hunt

More fun with Max and Ruby! A beautifully written story leads children through a series of English nursery rhymes, to solve the clues on a treasure hunt.

As the thunderstorm rages outside, clever Grandma makes a treasure hunt for the little bunnies.
Ruby, Max, Louise, her little sister Lily and her doll Dagmar follow the clues hidden around the house.

Hickory Dickory Dock,
The mouse ran up the _ _ _ _ _

Children are encourage to understand rhyming words to find the missing word in each rhyme.

Lock, block, smock, flock, rock, lock, sock. The first letters are shown and children encouraged to experiment by using the letters ‘ock’ after each to find the correct word.

The answer is shown in the picture boarder of each page for little ones.

Each of the 7 clues, hidden under 7 envelope flaps, eventually lead the bunnies behind Grandma’s chair to a little treasure box which holds five chocolate coins.

But where is Dagmar? Using their memories the children think of all the places in the house where Dagmar might be hiding. Hooray she’s not lost at all but right where Lily left her.

Filled with a bright happiness, Max and Ruby are endearing characters which have been playing with children since the 1980’s.
