Angie Morgan
Angie Morgan was born in Bristol and trained in Graphic Design and Illustration at Goldsmiths College, London. She didn’t follow a career in illustration on leaving college but did a variety of jobs including photographic styling and furniture painting.
She always harboured a dream to illustrate for a living but somehow never had the space or time.
Some years later she realised she had nothing to lose so she started writing to give herself something to illustrate, and found she enjoyed it and kept coming up with ideas (some better than others).
Her collage-style illustrations are done with pastels and watercolour, scanned fabrics and textures. She draws on her large collection of old letters, tins, fabrics, books and other bits and pieces inherited from her mother, to whom she’s grateful for her hoarding instinct, which has left her with such a library of treasures to work with.
Her inspiration comes from her three children, now grown-up, and from the children at her local primary school, where she offers Maths and Literacy support.
She lives in Bath and is the author and illustrator of a number of titles for London publishers Frances Lincoln.
