This cheerful bilingual (English-Spanish) board book, talks directly to little ones about toilet training. It encourages them to consider the big question: Will I go in my diaper/nappy/cloth training pants or will I use my potty?
This positive little book is easy to understand with its simple words and short sentences and makes a useful tool for parents encouraging this transition.
Whether introducing the potty, contemplate it all while sitting on the potty or as a prompt when your child looks like they need to go, it’s a fun read together.
The hilarious expressions of the toilet training tot, will help get your toddler in the mood to play along.
Where do the family cat or dog go when they have to go?
Drawing parallels with the potty can be surprisingly helpful. Adults don’t use potty’s after all, they use toilets.
When children see other little ones using a potty they have the benefit of seeing a behavior that they can copy. Without this some children can take longer to make the connection.
A book which models what the child is expected to do can be useful and I know a number of parents have commented that this book was a breakthrough tool for them.
Even when a choice is made it’s not always easy, these things take a bit of practice. Sometimes its just a matter of getting them to sit on the potty long enough for their body to relax or need to go to the toilet. The child is often amazed and delighted when they make this body-brain connection.
Lots of patience and a few laughs pay off in the end and everyone is happy. There is no evidence pictured of the triumphant outcome and I’m aware that some people think this is a necessary element. Respectfully I do not.
An array of exciting looking undies fill the last page, a colourful enticement for a new era to begin.
Lots of practical fun!BUY – Potty – Bacinica
